Šibenik will be the first stop on our trip from Omis to Krka national park. This historic city will enchant you with its amazing architecture; its alleys and fortresses, as well as the UNESCO-protected Cathedral of St. James are all testimonies in stone that were made by the skilled craftsmen during the city’s most prosperous periods.
Our day-trip continues with a guided tour through the beautiful Krka National Park where you will amazed by all this park has to offer, from the postcard-perfect scenery of waterfall Skradinski Buk, to the water mills along the river and finally a completely restored ethno village.
Once the guided part of the tour is over, you will get the chance to enjoy several of hours on your own. We recommend taking a dip in the refreshing Krka river in front of the waterfalls and among amazing travertine creations.
To get to our next destination we will hop on a boat that slowly floats down the river to its estuary and the adorable town Skradin. Before we depart back to Omis, you will be able to taste some excellent wines of the region, domestic cheeses and olive oil in a local winery.
07:20 – 09:15 Departure from Omis to Šibenik
We always check traffic reports beforehand, so we can choose the shortest possible and most pleasant route to Šibenik and avoid traffic congestions.
09:15 – 10:45 Sibenik & Saint James Cathedral – Guided Tour
Our 45-minute guided tour through Sibenik will provide you with plenty of information on this amazing city and its history. The Cathedral of St. James, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is just one among the many highlights you will see. After the guide accompanies you to the city’s major attractions, you will have 45 minutes on your own to discover the hidden treasures of Sibenik. We highly recommend visiting St. Michael’s fortress that offers spectacular views.
10:45 – 11:15 Short ride from Sibenik to the Krka National Park
Before entering the Krka National Park with our tour vehicle, there will be time to use the restrooms at the park’s entrance.
11:30 – 12:30 Skradinski Buk – Guided Tour
The Krka National Park was honored in 2017 with the Golden Interstas Award for excellence in tourism and is certainly a must see during your holiday in Dalmatia. Our guided tour through the national park enables you to see all the gems that Mother Nature has created in this small corner of the world, such as Skradinski Buk, the park’s most ravishing and famous waterfall, traditional water mills and washing columns. We continue our guided tour to another award-winning site, the Ethno village, where you will see how rural life was like in past centuries and hear more about the history, flora and fauna of this region.
12:30 – 15:30 Free time inside the National Park Krka
This is the perfect opportunity not only to be a spectator of pristine nature, but actually feel it on your own skin. We propose to change into your swimsuits, get your cameras ready and jump into the blue and green waters of the Krka River and enjoy the pleasure of swimming among travertine creations and amazing waterfalls. The photos that you will take home from this amazing experience will probably be among the best of your holiday in Croatia. Use your free time to strengthen your body with some delicious lunch in one of the many restaurants inside the park.
15:30 – 16:00 Boat ride from the Krka National Park to Skradin
We complete the visit to the Krka National Park with a pleasant boat ride. While slowly floating towards Skradin, enjoy vistas over the surrounding river canyon, its wildlife and abundant vegetation.
16:00 – 17:30 Wine tasting in Skradin
On our way to a family-run winery we will tell you more about town Skradin and its importance in ancient times. The owners of the winery will welcome us with delicious wines, savory chees and homemade olive oil, all made locally and organic in this region.
