When everybody is seated and buckled up, we head to our first destination, historical Šibenik. This charming coastal town allures more and more visitors every year with the Cathedral of St James (UNESCO world heritage site), amazing stone architecture, several fortresses and more.

The next destination on our itinerary is famous Krka National Park, which is only 20 minutes away from Šibenik. The park is one of Croatia’s must visit sites and filled with natural attractions, which will be explained to you in detail during our guided tour there. The guide will provide you with information about the breathtaking waterfall Skradinski Buk, the water mills along the Krka River and the ethno village located inside the park.

After the guided tour, you can explore the park on your own as there will be several of hours of free time. On a hot day, we recommend jumping into the clear waters of the river, exploring the travertine formations and swimming under the pristine Skradinski Buk waterfall.  It is a lifetime opportunity you shouldn’t miss!

Skradin, our next destination, is a just a short boat ride from the national park. Picturesque Skradin with its small town charm has a long and interesting history. You will hear more about it from your guide who will give you a tour of the town. Our day will end with a wine, cheese and liqueurs in the Croatian tasting house.

07:20 –  Meeting in Podstrana at the Statue of St. Anthony

Meeting point for the Krka waterfalls tour from Podstrana is in front of St. Anthony’s statue, at the crossing of Jurasove ulice and Strožanac road, across the street from supermarket Tommy.

07:20 – 08:00 Short drive from Podstrana to Split with a short break

Depending on the traffic conditions, it takes us approximately 20 minutes from Podstrana to the center of Split, where we will pick up the other passengers. There will be a 10-minute break in Split, during which you can have a lovely morning coffee, buy some supplies for the trip or grab a bite for breakfast.

08:00 – 09:15 Departure from Split to Sibenik

Although the old road to Šibenik is shorter in distance, we prefer to take our guests on the faster and more pleasant highway, since the old road runs along the coast and thus is very winding.

09:15 – 10:45 Šibenik & Saint James Cathedral guided tour

Explore Šibenik by walking through its idyllic and small streets where stone houses and stairways are flanking the way up to the fortress.  The city of stone, as it is often called, will take you on a travel back in time. During the 45-minute tour of Šibenik’s old town, you will be able to visit the famous Cathedral of St James with a licensed guide. It owes its uniqueness to the fact that it is entirely stone-made and therefore stands out in European architecture.

After the guided tour, we provide you with 45 minutes of free time to explore Šibenik on your own. St Michael’s fortress, another highlight of the city, invites you with amazing views and is a sight we recommend visiting. Those of you who rather want to relax in the old town should grab a delicious gelato or a cold drink for refreshment.

10:45 – 11:15 Bus ride from Šibenik to the Krka National Park

Upon arrival at the Krka National Park, there will be a short stop at the park entrance so you can freshen up and use the restrooms before starting our tour inside the park.

11:30 – 12:30 Skradinski Buk – Guided Tour

Skradinski Buk, the gem of the Krka National Park, is one of the longest and most beautiful waterfalls in Croatia.  During the guided tour around the park, your licensed guide will provide you with plenty of information on this impressive cascading waterfall and explain to you how the river water was utilized for centuries on the example of the washing columns, rolling mills and old water mills that we will pass along this tour.

Our next sight is the Ethno village, which was awarded with the “Golden Flower of Europe award”. This beautifully renovated complex will give you an insight how the people around here used to live. You will also hear more about the park’s floral and faunal diversity and the history of Skradinski Buk and its creation.

12:30 – 15:30 Free time to swim and enjoy the Krka National Park on your own

Now might be a good time to unpack your swimming gear and jump into the refreshing waters of the river. Skradinski Buk and its azure pools provide you with a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself into pristine nature and certainly get some of the most memorable photos of your holiday.

We also recommend using the free time to lunch in one of the park’s many restaurants.

15:30 – 16:00 Boat ride from the Krka National Park to Skradin

What better way to complete the visit to the Krka National Park than with a leisurely boat ride along the river. The beautiful scenery and gorgeous landscape will accompany you all the way to Skradin. Look out for the local swans that swim along the shores in this picture-perfect environment.

16:00 – 17:30 Wine tasting in Skradin town

After the boat ride we will relax in an old local tasting house serving authentic high quality wines from all Croatia. We will snack on some cheese in homemade olive oil and enjoy wine presentation in a friendly domestic atmosphere.
