Upon arrival at the Plitvice Lakes National Park you will meet your guide who will take you on an unforgettable tour along one of Croatia’s oldest national parks. Its intact nature and the need for preservation was recognized already in 1949, when it was proclaimed a national park and in 1979 when UNESCO declared it a World Heritage site.
The breathtaking 16 lakes of the park, which are divided into the upper and lower lakes, are connected through amazing waterfalls you are about to see. Prepare your cameras to take memorable photos of them as they appear in a wide range of colors, which include all shades from turquoise, blue to dark green. Their setting in the lush vegetation in combination with the sound of rolling waters and singing birds create memories you will truly never forget. Not without reason are the Plitvice Lakes one of nature’s finest creations.
While leading you along the wooden paths of the lakes’ shores and over rolling streams to the most exceptional waterfalls, the guide will tell you about the park’s history and creation. You will also hear and learn about the indigenous species that inhabit the Plitvice Lakes and their importance for the preservation of this unspoiled eco-system. On our tour you will have the chance to see the best of the upper and lower lakes, to ride a panoramic train and enjoy a relaxing electric boat ride, as well as witness the greatness of Croatia’s highest waterfall Veliki Slap.
