The first stop on our way is the royal town of Sibenik. Immerse yourself in the history of Sibenik, admire the architectural beauty each step you take, see its 4 fortresses and the most famous monument: the UNESCO world heritage listed Cathedral of St James.
After you have seen Sibenik we wil continue our trip and head to Krka National Park where we will visit its most famous attraction – the Skradinski Buk waterfall, one of Croatia’s most famous natural landmarks. The tour of Skradinski Buk with our guide will be the best way for you to get acquainted with water mills on river Krka and its award-winning ethno village.
Several hours of free time after the guided tour of Krka will be perfect for a swim in crystal clear Skradinski Buk waterfall. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. Skradinski Buk is famous for its travertine formations and natural pools, so get to see it from the water.
The next part of our guided Krka tour is a picturesque boat ride from Skradinski Buk to Skradin, one of the most beautiful small Dalmatian towns. 08:20 – Meet up in Kastela
Since the town of Kastela consists of 7 villages all in the same direction, on our way to Krka waterfalls tour we can pick you up at the nearest bus station (after you had given us by e-mail the exact location in Kastela).
08:20 – 09:15 Departure from Kastela to Sibenik
On our way to Sibenik we will choose the shortest route and the one with the least chance of traffic jams considering the road conditions at that time, to ensure we reach Krka safely and on time.
09:15 – 10:45 Šibenik & Saint James Cathedral – Guided Tour
First, you will enjoy in an amazing opportunity to see the idyllic Šibenik, the city of stone. Šibenik is known for its narrow winding streets, old stone houses and many stone stairways, all preserved in their ancients glory. The tour of Sibenik will last 45 minutes and of course it will include visit to the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St James with a licensed guide. Although it seems everything in Dalmatia is made from stone, the cathedral of St James is the unique European architectural monument built entirely from it.
After the tour you will have 45 minutes to enjoy some free time, do exploring on your own or do some souvenir shopping. We would gladly recommend a visit to St Michael’s fortress which is perched above the old town, or go and grab an ice-cream somewhere on a bench by the sea.
10:45 – 11:15 Departure from Šibenik to Krka National Park
We continue our way to Krka National Park with a short stop at the park entrance where you can use the restroom before we enter the park with our tour vehicle.
11:30 – 12:30 Skradinski Buk – Guided Tour
The best part of the tour is definitely the Skradinski Buk, one of Croatia’s natural treasures. The Skradinski Buk is famous as the longest and therefore the most impressive waterfall on the Krka River. Here your licensed guide will take you on a tour of this stunning cascading waterfall, you will see and visit the centuries old water mills and washing columns, together with the traditional folk architecture.
Your next stop is the award winning Ethno village with the “Golden Flower of Europe award”. Here your guide will show you the rich diversity of flora with 1022 recorded species, and the endemic, rare and threatened fauna of Krka National Park.
12:30 – 15:30 Free time for swimming and exploring Krka Park
After you have seen it all with our guide enjoy in the rare opportunity to swim in the crystal clear natural pools under the Skradinski Buk waterfall and explore its travertine formations. By swimming under the famous Skradinski Buk waterfall you will experience firsthand the amazing national park Krka and its river. Make sure you bring your bathing suit and camera. Take time to grab something to eat in one of affordable restaurants in the National Park area. There are many trails in the park where you can take a relaxing walk or hike.
15:30 – 16:00 Departure from Krka National Park to Skradin by boat
Meander down the river Krka on a boat with us, while taking in picturesque surrounding of the Krka National Park. Here you will see that the beauty of the Krka River is best seen from a boat with uninterrupted views. Enjoy in the images of local scenery, wild swans swimming in a pristine natural environment. It’s the perfect time to sit back and reflect on your incredible day with us.
16:00 – 17:30 Wine tasting in Skradin town
We will end our visit of the National park Krka in the town of Skradin, a picturesque romantic town at the mouth of river Krka. And what better way to end the day than by enjoying some wine tasting in a traditional winery of a local family. Some homemade cheese will accompany the wine and make your day trip to the National Park Krka a feast for all your senses.
