About Private Blue Cave and Hvar Tour
If you want to experience the highlights of the central Dalmatian islands, but time is a luxury you cannot afford, then joining us on a private day trip from Split to Blue Cave might be the right choice for you. We will take you on an unforgettable speedboat tour that includes Hvar island, breathtaking natural phenomena, historical attractions and swimming breaks at the most astonishing locations in the Adriatic Sea.
Your private tour starts in Split, where the covered speedboat waits for you for an action-packed day. It is not only the fastest means of transportation to get to the Blue Cave on the remote island of Biševo, but also a safe and joyful one that is suitable for all ages.
The Blue Cave is a unique gem that lies only a 90-minute ride away on the northeastern shores of Biševo in the Balun bay. Invisible to the observer from the outside, it literally takes your breath away once you enter the cave and see its illuminated water that sparkles in the most remarkable blue colors. Modra Špilja, as it is locally called, is best visited in the late morning hours as it is only then when the sunrays hit the opening below water in the right angle to reflect from the white limestone floor and thus create this magnificent palette of bluish and silver colors. Prepare your cameras, but also your mind, to capture this magical place for unforgettable memories.
Not less impressive is our next destination, the world-famous Stiniva beach, just across Biševo on the island Vis. Tucked in a tiny bay that is surrounded by steep cliffs with an only 16ft wide entrance from the sea, it is the perfect hideaway for nature lovers and a place waiting to be discovered for yet another James Bond movie. Stiniva’s pebble beach and crystal blue waters graced numerous magazine covers and earned it the award Europe’s Best Beach in 2016. It is best visited by boat as the only other option is a steep downhill hike.
Depending on the weather and sea conditions, the captain will decide whether to anchor on islet Budikovac just around the corner. Ask the captain for the snorkeling gear we have on board to explore the cave’s underwater world.
Buckle up and make yourself comfortable in your seats as we pick up some speed again to reach the magical Palmižana bay that belongs to the famous Pakleni islands archipelago in front of Hvar’s southern coastline. Palmižana, where we will take an extensive lunch break, is famous for its turquoise-colored waters and sandy beach, but also for its outstanding gastronomic diversity in the restaurants and beach bars, which are set in the lush and unique vegetation of the island. From traditional dishes to haute cuisine, you will certainly spoil your palate here.
Revived by an excellent lunch and swimming break in Palmižana, we head to Hvar town, the last highlight of our trip and the sunniest place in Europe. We arrive and disembark right on Hvar’s seafront promenade where you will immediately understand why this place has gained its international status as a top destination. The promenade, which is lined with luxurious yachts, and the historical town that rises up the hill to the Spanjola Fortress offers plenty to explore.
From renaissance palaces, historical attractions to trendy bars and restaurants, Hvar has it all and is therefore a place hardly anyone wants to leave. Take your time to wander through the labyrinth of streets and discover this exceptional town.
After your extensive stay in Hvar, it is time to say farewell to this beautiful place and hop on board for your return to Split. Be assured that this trip will be something you will remember and treasure as one of the best days in Croatia.

Tour itinerary
07:15 Meeting in front of the south gate of Diocletian’s palace
Main meeting point for the Blue Cave tour from Split is in front of the bronze model of the Split, at the Eastern end of the boardwalk, across the Southern entrance of the Diocletian’s Palace (Obala hrvatskog narodnog preporoda 23).
07:30 Scheduled departure from Split to Blue Cave
While getting comfortable in your seat and heading to the stunning Blue Cave, turn around and take a look at the glorious Riva seafront promenade and Diocletian’s Palace in the light morning sun and prepare for a fun speedboat ride to one of the furthest islands of Croatia. It is not only the fastest, but also the most enjoyable way to hit the hot spots of Biševo, Vis and Hvar, thereby avoiding traffic, ferries and busy ports. The ride is extremely pleasant as you will have a covered speedboat at your disposal. Your safety is, of course, our priority, and we will make sure that everyone is buckled up and feeling alright before we depart. Let us remind you that this tour is suitable for all ages, so bring your kids along on this unforgettable day trip.
09:00 Island Biševo and visit to the Blue Cave
Upon arrival at Biševo’s Balun bay, we will directly head to the Blue Grotto, a phenomenon only Mother Nature could have created so magnificent. After the captain of your boat organizes the entry tickets, you will be able to see for yourself why the Blue Cave is one of the most stunning places in this part of the world. The sunlight, which enters the cave through an opening below water and is reflected off the white limestone seabed inside the cave, creates this unique interplay of aquamarine, blue and silver colors that brought the cave its reputation and fame. Have your cameras and other gadgets ready since the Blue Cave is probably one of the most beautiful models you will see in front of your lenses. For safety reasons, swimming inside the cave is strictly prohibited.
11:00 Sightseeing of the Stiniva beach
Our next stop is the Stiniva bay on the island Vis and only a short boat ride away. In 2016, its beach received the “Europe’s Best Beach” award for its spectacular layout and landscape. Stiniva has become a trademark for Croatia’s genuine and pure natural beauty and was featured on many magazine covers.
12:00 Break at the Budikovac
Now it is time to relax during a swimming break in front islet Budikovac, another tiny island off the Vis coast. This destination is great and will provide you with refreshing swimming in the crystal waters of the Adriatic Sea. We also have snorkeling gear for our guests on board.
13:30 Free time on Pakleni islands and lunch (optional)
Just 45 minutes on the speed boat and you will find yourself again in haven. Palmižana bay on the island Klement belongs to the Pakleni islands archipelago and is famous for its beauty and excellent gastronomy. During your 2-hour break, you will be able to enjoy the sandy beach and its azure blue waters or explore the island’s interior that is covered by a unique and exotic fauna. We recommend having lunch in one of the several restaurants as their cuisine is exquisite and world-famous.
16:00 Explore town Hvar on Hvar island
Town Hvar on the island of the same name will be our next destination. This beautiful town, which is only a 15-minute boat ride away, offers its visitors spectacular architecture, history and numerous sights worth visiting while you are here. Climb up through the winding alleys to the Spanjola Fortress to catch breathtaking views over the town, the Pakleni archipelago and Vis. Hvar is also an excellent place to get some local souvenirs since this island is famous for its lavender and wine production.
18:00 Departure from Hvar to Split
It is time to say “see you again Hvar” and leave for Split. Take your seat and enjoy the last part of this unforgettable trip, which ends 30 minutes later at Split’s seafront promenade.
